ODBD Bread Basket

Happy Tuesday Friends!! I hope you are all well!!

Today I am popping in to share a card I made with this week's sketch at the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge!! I just love sketches and it truly is amazing how you can use the same sketch and make two very different cards!!

For my creation I used the tea cup from Birthday Blessings and cut it out.  It is layered on ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern and Vintage Labels.  The border along the bottom is ODBD Beautiful Borders.
The dp is from my scrap bin.  I know the top layer is a Basic Grey Porcelain dp.

This card is for a dear older lady from church who has been very ill.  Each week I try to make a dinner for her or encourage her in some way.

Jesus through out the Bible gave to those in need.  This is just a couple of life verses to encourage us to help others:

Romans 12:20  If your enemies are hungry, give them something to eat. And if they are thirsty, give them something to drink...

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another just as in Christ God has forgiven you.

We are called to be compassionate in our Christian walk not only to our friends and family but also our enemies or those we may dislike. Every day we see people who are in need.  We hear about them on the news, in our schools, and more.  Yet in today's world, it's become so easy to only look at our own needs and consider those in need invisible.  When I am down or frustrated about when I am currently not able to do, it encourages me when thinking of others that may have it worse than I that I can help.  Is there someone you know who could use your help or encouragement?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you enjoy my creation!! For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters: Cheryl Scrivens, DJ Rants, Diana Nyugen, Robin Clendenning, Linda Carson, and Elizabeth Whisson.

Oh, I like your new blog look! And your card is just sweet- but not as sweet as you! You must be such a bright light for your dear friend...and in that light, I'll send a note of encouragement to someone today.

Oh, Chris, I LOVE the new "look" of your blog!! What a gorgeous card using the beautiful tea cup filled with flowers!! It's colored so beautifully AND fussy cut, which makes it extra special! And I agree that the papers you've used are vibrant. Lovely touches with the twine, pearls, and always one of the Beautiful Borders!! I know the precious lady from church will cherish it as she does your dinners and encouragement! What a blessing you are, and you are right that God calls us to show compassion and encourage others!! And even though you struggle in recovering from your accident (with so much pain still), I know God will honor you as well! Hugs, my sweet friend!!

Wow - loving your new blog look Chris :-) I love your card too. Beautiful colouring and love the colours of your DP. The lady must feel very blessed to have your encouragement each week. Thanks for sharing those verses too - what a challenge and reminder for us to help and/or encourage others.
